Evita Social Housing CIC was founded with a vision to create a world where everyone, regardless of their challenges, can live with dignity, empowerment, and independence. Our journey began with a simple yet profound commitment: to provide exceptional supported housing for individuals with learning disabilities, mental health issues, autism, and other health and social care needs. Over the years, we have grown into a vibrant community dedicated to transforming lives through compassionate care and support.
EVITA SOCIAL HOUSING is a Company Limited by Guarantee (Company No 15895971 ) which was established to provide and manage housing accommodation, it does not trade for profit, and its rules prohibit the issue of capital with interest or dividend. It is registered as a ‘community interest company’
EVITA SOCIAL HOUSING is a Housing Association as defined in section 1(1) of the Housing Associations Act 1985. Regulation 2 of the Housing Benefit Regulations 2006 states that “housing association” has the meaning assigned to it by section 1(1) of the Housing Associations Act 1985.
EVITA SOCIAL HOUSING is a Voluntary Organisation for Housing Benefit purposes because it is “a body, other than a public or local authority, the activities of which are carried on otherwise than for profit ” – a definition found within Regulation 2 of the Housing Benefit Regulations 2006.
As a result of EVITA SOCIAL HOUSING being a ‘relevant body‘ as defined in Regulation 75H of The Housing Benefit and Universal Credit (Supported Accommodation) (Amendment) Regulations 2014, and our tenants being admitted in order to meet a care or support need, our supported housing provision is invariably ‘Specified Accommodation 'in the form of ‘Exempt accommodation’. This means that our tenants’ accommodation costs are met from outside of their Universal Credit entitlement.
EVITA SOCIAL HOUSING is not a Registered Provider of Social Housing and therefore Article 16 of the Subsidy Order applies.
